The Cross-Pacific Playbook feat. Oishii
December 16th, 2025 | 7:00pm - 9:00pm
For our final event of the year at Spotify, we are bringing together the people shaping the future of culture, technology, and consumer innovation. This session examines one of the most compelling intersections today: where US startup thinking meets Japan’s cultural depth and aesthetic sensibilities.
Japan has long influenced global culture through food, design, craft, and hospitality, while the US continues to drive category-defining consumer products. This event brings both worlds into the same room to understand how global trends emerge when these forces meet.
We are joined by Hiroki Koga, Founder and CEO of Oishii, and Saya Iwasaki, who has led People teams at DoorDash and OpenSea and is now working on a special project at Notion. Together, they offer first-hand insight into how brands interpret Japan’s unique consumer signals and what global builders can learn from them.
Oishii, founded in 2017 in New York and New Jersey, is a vertical farming company best known for its premium Japanese strawberries and tomatoes. With rapid growth in the US and a newly established base in Japan to accelerate research and development, Oishii has become a leading example of how Japanese craftsmanship and US innovation can combine to redefine quality in the consumer space.
This is an intimate, high-energy gathering built for meaningful conversations. Expect bold perspectives, sharp questions, and the kind of surprising connections that only happen when creative minds and curious operators share the same room. It is a rare chance to hear directly from leaders who are actively shaping the next wave of global consumer culture.
